Bank of Japan keeps benchmark interest rate unchanged

TOKYO, 28th April, 2026 (WAM) -- The Bank of Japan on Tuesday kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at around 0.75 percent at a two-day policy meeting.

In the latest quarterly outlook report, the central bank said it expects the Japanese economy to grow 0.5 percent in the current fiscal year that started this month, compared with its earlier projection of a 1.0 percent expansion.
